As you may already know, I spent my Eid vacation mostly in Jebel Ali, so my access to Downtown Dubai and Jumeirah was very minimal, however I managed to make the most of it by visiting some really nice and blog-worthy places, like Comptoir102. This bohemian chic Parisian boutique/cafe with an "all things French" theme, located on Jumeirah Road in Dubai, sells deceptively simple chic jewelry, beautiful art, and the prettiest whimsical fashion and home accessories in an equally understated and cozy setting. The cafe offers indoor/outdoor seating, and the most mouthwatering healthy menu, think dairy-free, gluten-free options, and organic ingredients. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, very friendly and beyond lovely. The store closes at 7PM and at 6:50PM we got stuck in Eid traffic, and we needed at least 20 minutes to get there. So I called the store and asked the owner if she could wait for us, and she immediately said to me in her lovely french accent "Don't worry I'll wait for you". We arrived a little after 7:30PM and she was just beyond lovely and understanding and even eager to explain the concept and the store and the story behind the design pieces on display. Bless her heart!
Everything looked so tempting the beach bags, that bird cage lamp, the custom wallpapers, the colorful espadrilles, the mind-blowing jewelry that blew my wallet and savings away. Will share a photo of my purchase soon. This place is a must-visit if you're in Dubai, whether to shop or eat, or both (even better).
