Event: Pretty Little Things: Dolls & Textiles Edition

I had the pleasure to visit Pretty Little Things' latest event currently held at AlSadu House, where various fashion and lifestyle brands are showcasing their latest products, with my amazingly sweet fellow bloggerista Loulwa of InteriaKW and our lovely common friend S. Participants of the event included Hettabretz (Italian leather), Trickponi fashion showroom (check out the gorgous head piece worn by the showroom's sweet owner), Spanish shoes brand Maians, Greet Touch Hydroponics (growing indoor herbs and veggies minus the messiness of using soil), Jars home accessories, So Lulu jewelry, Ivy leather handbags, Oleana online shop for baby clothes and accessories, and Amna Al Salem pret-a-porter. I hope I didn't forget anyone!

PLT organizer Noaf Hussain in cooperation with AlSadu House also commissioned a group of regional designers to dress up fabric dolls in their signature designs. The dolls are sold to benefit the event's charity good cause which is building a second house in the orphanage. Scroll down to view and read the highlights of the evening.

The exhibition will be closed tomorrow, but will re-open on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th November from 3pm to 10pm.

Our  first stop was at Trickponi, a Saudi-based fashion showroom representing regional designers such as L'aterlier Nawbar, Fyunka, and Razan Alazzouni. As well as New York-based brands Shosh, Shui Chen, and Giles & Brother. We spent most of our time at L'aterlier Nawbar's display trying on rings and bracelets. Here are some of our favorite pieces... the serpentine ring... siiiiigh.

I asked my model friend Lolwa to try on this bedazzling diamond cuff bracelet shaped as a peacock and I just couldn't stop snapping away! It looked ahhhmaaazinggg... and check out the below palm bracelet/glove, isn't that something huh? Stunning! I tried it on myself, seeing how excited and mesmerised I was by L'aterlier Nawbar's selection, I could swear that the security guards perked up, or was it my imagination?

I spotted this super stylish girl at the event and I just loved the way she mixed leather with florals

Beautiful necklaces by L'aterlier Nawbar

Maze Creative Concepts by Bibi Al Ghanim needs no introduction, she always showcases the most gorgeous selection of modern furniture and home accessories with a Middle Eastern twist. I have previously featured her work on my blog here and here.

The charity dolls created by regional talents were really pieces of art. I couldn't decide which one was my favorite, but if I really really had to narrow it down I'd say it's a tie between Yousef Al Ibrahim's and Amna Al Salem. The dolls are being sold for KD 100 and all proceeds go to charity as explained earlier in this post.

How glamorous is the tail and the statement jewel on this doll made by Noha Al Roumi of NohaNoor.

This is Amna Al Salem's doll

Cute necklace designed by So Lulu, a handmade jewelry by designer Lubna Al-Nakib. I have previously featured her work here

The first thing that attracted me to Jars Home accessories corner were these colorful pillows and and puff chairs. They'd add such a nice pop of color to a neurtal seating area. I also remembvered that I have previously featured Jars on my blog almost a year ago when I visited their store in Seven Seas Mall in Shuwaikh. I liked their selection of beautifully hand-painted pots and boxes.

Beautiful and chic people at Jars

Maians, a Barcelona-based brand of men and women's shoes. The original Spanish plimsoll.

I also liked the selection of leather jackets at Italian leather brand Hettabretz's corner. Apparently they're stocked in stores such as Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Loewe in Madrid, Fortnum & Mason in London, and Neiman Marcus Dallas, among others.

But my favorite piece of Hettabretz was this TDF baby pink leather skirt!!! LOVE at first sight!

Can you believe that this is leather? It is made from the lightest leather I've ever seen!

Oleana had is definitely the place to go if you're a mom or a mother-to-be, they had an adorable selection of baby clothes and accessories! Check out the angle wings on the pink cardi below!

And last but not least, I had the pleasure of briefly bumbing into a fellow blogger My Green Sofa, who looked dapper and preppy chic.
