LFW: Emilia Wickstead S/S 2013 Fashion Show

The first fashion show I attended during London Fashion Week was Emilia Wickstead's S/S 2013. The collection can be summed up in two words: Elegant and effortlessly chic. The designer has sent out models down the runway with impeccably groomed super straight hair and very soft makeup, dressed in pretty dresses with hems reaching mid-calf, featuring scooped out necks and backs. Full skirts and slim Bermuda shorts also had their fair share of the spotlight. The palette is enriched by buttercup yellow, mint green, soft pink, and duck egg blue. One of my most favorite looks was this striped silk top paired with a gorgeous full circular checkered skirt made of what I think thick linen. I also loved the shoes, I tried to get a close-up, but couldn't get a proper photo. Manolo Blahnik designed high heeled pointed court shoes and cut-out sandals in tropical shades of pink and green, they were specially made for Emilia Wickstead's S/S 2013 collection.

Apparently, the designer is known to frequently dress British high-society. And the stylish girl who I was seated next to (who works as a stylist) thinks that Kate Middleton will definitely pick-up some of these pieces from the runway.
You can get a better view of the collection here. The funny thing is that in one of the photos taken by their photographer, you can actually see my head peeping from the crowd hidden behind my camera snapping away. The photographer must have been really annoyed about me ruining the background.. teehee..

By the way, Emilia Wickstead's A/W 2012 collection is currently being stocked at Matches Fashion, and if you liked the designer's very feminine and polished creations, you will fall in love with what's available on Matches.
