Floor to Fashion

I was invited by the lovely people of SAMOVAR to check out their new dedicated area for their Floor to Heaven collection, located on the 2nd floor of SAMOVAR. They were displaying some pieces which I have previously featured here in addition to a selection of new ones just as stunning if not more. They look like art for flooring. Floor to Heaven is a couture carpet and rug brand created by German designer Michaela Schleypen. And as I examined each piece I couldn't help but link almost every rug I saw to a fashion brand. Check out the one above, it looks as if it was inspired by Marni's Fall 2011 collection.  Scroll down for more fashion inspirations, click on the designer's name to know which item I was referring to.

The rugs on display all come in one size. But according to Yousef of SAMOVAR you can also select the design you want and have it customized to your preferred size. To find out more visit SAMOVAR Carpets and Antiques showroom located at Al Tilal Complex in Shuwaikh. You can also follow them on instgram @usefhindi or @samovarcarpets to get their latest updates. Read my previous posts on SAMOVAR here and here.

Something by Marni maybe?

In love with this design, it looks as if a Chinese cobalt blue and white porcelain was turned into a rug. It also reminded me of designs used in Preen's Pre-fall collection 2012, Roberto Cavalli resort 2013 collection, and Dior's  blue and white wedding dresses

This colorful rug felt like it was inspired by a Ramadan Caftan

This white not-suitable-for-kids rug reminded me of Stella McCartney's basket weave bags

This one felt like something designed by a mix of Murakami or Cacharel or Liberty
