Video: The Fake Trade

"I remember walking into an assembly plant in Thailand a couple years ago and seeing six or seven little children, all under ten years old, sitting on the floor assembling counterfeit leather handbags,' the investigator told me... 'The owners has broken the chilldren's legs and tied the lower leg to the thigh so the bones wouldn't mend. He did it because the children said they wanted to go outside and play."
Deluxe: How Luxury Lost it's Luster by Dana Thomas (Page 288)

This horrific part was shared with me by my fellow blogger Miss Ghesquiere. "What makes it worse is that the reason these kids' legs were broken was because some status-obsessed, privileged moron wanted to seem "kashkha" (look fancy) on a discount." expressed MG in her e-mail. So sad indeed!

I have also found this video clip which talks about the sale of counterfeit luxury merchandise online.  Here are some other interesting and appalling facts which I have found on Bazaar's fakes never in fashion site:
  •  $600 Billion Estimated annual sales in counterfeit products worldwide
  • $512 Billion Global sales lost to counterfeit goods
I would just love to say thank you to Miss Ghesquiere for taking the time to write her very informative email and sending it to us. And for encouraging us to put this information out for all of you to see and take a stand against this fake trade.
