Back to Balenciaga

A long time ago I've read somewhere, can't remember the source unfortunately, that Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière will be going into the brand's legendary archives to re-produce vintage couture dresses from the 50's and the 60's. And I thought to myself, how fabulous would it be to wear a dress that would put all the dresses featured on Mad Men to shame?! And that was that, until recently when I stepped inside Balenciaga's boutique in Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. And noticed that their mannequins were displayed like you were inside a museum. After a closer inspection, I noticed that each dress was tagged with a label of when was that style designed.  They were truly simple yet very glamorous pieces.  I asked the sales lady if they were for sale and she said yes and that I could also place an order to customize the dress to the color of my liking (or at least that's what I understood from her!).  I didn't bother to ask about the prices of each dress because I'm pretty much sure it would cost an arm and a leg to buy one.  However, because I fell in luv with the black buttoned jacket/dress shown in the first photo I inquired about it's price tag.  I think it costs around KD 1,800. It looked a lot like this piece. Now scroll down and let Balenciaga captivates you.
