I had the pleasure to attend The ARTSHARKS ARTHouse exhibition, which is currently held at FA Gallery until 3rd April, to showcase works from 12 of its contemporary Arab artists. Founded by a Kuwaiti entrepreneur and a Central Saint Martin's graduate with a strong passion for art Manayer AlSharekh, ARTSHARKS aims to bridge the art gap by providing a network and exchange where members are exposed to art from all over the world and discover new and upcoming artists to provide them with the necessary exposure. The exhibition was set up well and the art was of strong quality. Definitely another great indicator for the future of art market in Kuwait. I have taken some photos of some of my favorite pieces to share with you.
This "Fourth Pyramid" piece is one of ArtSharks productions on display
Stunning work by Kuwaiti artist Dana Al Hilal titled icons: Um Kalthom, Fayrouz, and I think that's
Laila Murad? Asmahan (Amal al-Atrash). Dana spent sometime in Florence Italy to study live sketching and classical painting, she has conducted two exhibitions in Kuwait in the past 5 years, she's also planning to make the shift to take on painting as a full time career soon. She also has some really fabulous creations made for Local Tees.
I liked this "Bu Noura" piece.
Above is the "I am not Frida" oil painting by artist Omar Fayoumi
