No No No No No!

This limited edition Louis Vuitton speedy bag is probably the only bag from Richard Prince collaboration with Marc Jacobs which I really hate. It transformed the practical classic speedy into a horrific unclassy bag. If the original bag featured in the photo above looks that ugly now, I wonder how the fakes ones would look like. LV's boutique is located at Salhiya Complex.

80's Flashback

British designer Peter Jensen capsule collection for Topshop is now available at the Avenues. As part of his collection, Peter Jensen has created colour-block 80's inspired prom/cocktail dresses. Featured here are the Bandeau dress and Vest prom dress both with tiered skirt detail.

I have mixed feelings about these dresses. Even though the 80's is in this season, I truly think that not anyone could pull them off, unless you're Peaches Geldof. Besides, the PJ prom dress will set you back KD 80. Sooo not worth it since it's TopShop-ish after all.

Valli of the Bride

I am thrilled to be able to share with you this exclusive preview of renowned international designer Giambattista Valli’s debut Spring 2009 Bridal Collection. The Media rep of luxury retailer Bergdorf Goodman was kind enough to provide me with this info and photos.

Featured here are some of the designer's stunningly elegant gowns straight from the runway. If you're currently in New York (siiiigh), you can have the opportunity to view and purchase any one of these gowns at a trunk show taking place at Bergdorf Goodman on October 28th & 29th from 10am to 4pm.

For the rest of us who are (and will be) in the GCC region the next couple of days, you can check out AlOthman Bridal store located at La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art in Bahrain, as they do stock Valli's bridal gowns.

Which of the featured bridal gown is your most and least favourite? My most fave is the first photo. Least fave? 4 & 8.

Doctor Doctor... Give me the news!

I've got a bad case of lovin' you (Chanel) No pill's gonna cure my ill. So I might as well get yoooou (My apologies to Robert Palmer).

The famous Chanel Quilted glazed calfskin doctor bag from the Paris-Londres 2008 collection is now available at Chanel's boutique located at Salhiya Complex in two sizes. I fell in love with the larger one instantly, BUT, there's a slight problem. The bag does look a lot like Marc Jacobs Stam bag (which I'm not very fond of). It's lighter though with much better quality. Price? KD 1,130.

Nice to Meet you Maria

I stumbled upon these heavenly heels in a new store at the Avenues called Maria Pino. They are the perfect footwear for fall; super feminine, and super high. They make a strong style statement day or night. Price range? between KD 85 and KD 99.

My most favorite style is featured here on the first photo, peep-toe oxford high heels in patent leather. It would go well with my blazer jacket to get this boy-meets-girl look right.

Ankle boots are everywhere this season and I can't seem to get enough! I liked these ankle boots with side zippers detail shown in the photo above. They would look very modern and uber chic with cropped trousers, or tapered pants, or drainpipes.

See how these peep toe semi-platform ankle boots will instantly transform your look. Pair them with silk minimal modish dress.

Maria Pino is located at the Avenues (Phase 2, first floor). For inquiries, please call (+965) 2571-6164.

Opening Soon At the Avenues

Here's an update of all the new designer shops opening soon at the Avenues (Phase II): Carolina Herrera, Paul & Joe, Mulburry, the famous multi-brand Lebanese store Aizone, Paul Smith, and Patrizia Pepe (heart). I wonder how many hours would it take us to shop at each boutique at the Avenues' Phase II only?! Would you be up for a loooong walk to take a sneak peek at what other shops on the other side of the mall are offering like Zara, H&M, and TopShop?

Some Sole Searching

Famous for their range of colorful and eclectic ballet flats and ballerinas, French Sole and London Sole will be available soon at Salhiya Complex, Mezzanine floor.

Every year I make it a point to buy new pair of flats. I don't always get lucky with my choices. The ones that I buy tend to easily wear out or sometimes they're not comfy, like my Lanvin flats, they gave me blisters every time I wore them for more than 2 hours! Also, I had 2 pairs of French Sole ballerinas, the first pair, I have only had them for a month and they have totally fallen apart. The second pair for some reason looks brand new even though I have worn the hell out of them.

Have you ever owned a pair of French/London Sole? If yes, what were their colors?

A Thank You Note To BodyAmr

Dear BodyAmr,

There is something so effortlessly chic about your Spring '09 collection with its fascinating details from color-blocking and divine draping to Grecian ruching and body-hugging lines which I absolutely love. And the fact that the creative mind behind this collection is by an Omani-born designer based out of London makes it even more appealing.

BodyAmr, I am extremely proud of you and of what you have achieved. That just tells you that the GCC region has some fashion talent and style beyond the tackiness which sometimes we see by so-called designers publicizing their "creations" in the local media.

I have featured here my favourite looks from the Spring 2009 BodyAmr collection. Thank you for your creativity, ambition, and sense of style.

BodyAmr collections are sold at AlOthman located at Mariam Complex, Salem AlMubarak St, Salmiya. For inquires, please call (+965) 2 575-4954.

Quirky Classic Chanel

How genius is this white quilted Chanel bag with quirky side handles from the brand's Spring/Summer 2009 Ready-to-wear collection? It would have even looked cooler if it came in 80's like bright color. Me Luuve!

Pepper & Pistol

The press people of a very kooky cool brand named Pepper and Pistol were kind enough to send me their latest Summer 2009 lookbook. Pepper and Pistol is a women's line focusing on custom prints and feminine cuts created with shiny soft silks, airy voiles, and jerseys, all with a definite love for details and finish.

I have checked out their new Summer 2009 collection, which is called BABYLON. The collection is infused with tropical 50's with a splash of Rastafari, soothing Greens, and refreshing Blues. It has the perfect elements for a cocktail beach party or a chilled-out Summer night. I luuuved the theme of the lookbook and the model's shoes and turban! (yes! You read it right, her turban).

Take a sneak peak at Pepper & Pistol's lookbook which was shot by Ryan Michael Kelly, click here.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, the line is not sold in Kuwait yet. So boutique owners.. Anyone interested?
