Crimped hair, neons, shrunken leather jackets, short full skirts, aaaand shoulder pads. The 80's back with a vengeance. And from what I see on MaxMara's Fall ads, the emphasis is on sharp & high shoulder pads. Surprisingly, I like what I'm seeing here and I would wear this look without a blink. Actually I already bought a jacket with the highest shoulder pads ever. I Call it the ridiculously fashio
nable jacket.Would you dare to wear this trend?

that era was a disaster!
i was hoping that shoulder pads wont come back! but suddenly THEY ARE! and NO i wont be wearing them what so ever!!!
I agree NO SHOULDER PADS FOR ME!
They look hideous!!
I wanna see your jacket! :D
Fashion and Music wise, the 80's was the last creative era. Full or originals.
It wasn't until the 90's that people started re-inventing past eras.
The 80's were hot, AND if you misused fashion back then, then you've been given a golden chance now to correct it.
ill be wearing it!
azm do u have a blog?!?!
when i was in london i saw a girl in her 20's wearing a sharp shoulder pad that looks really cuttte i wanted to ask her so bad where did she got the jacket :P but i didnt have the guts so i missed out MB had funny looking ones :P

Exactly Anonymous #3!!!
Margiela did an even more extreme shoulder pad yeaaaars ago, plus the whole 80's revival thing happened in the early 2000's (wikipedia electroclash!), I don't know what you guys r talking about. A lot of designers have been referencing the 90s in the past couple of years, they've moved on. Designers like Marios Schwab, Christopher Kane, Louis Goldin, and the like have been referencing 1990's bodycon design like shighil Azzedine Alaia and Bodyglove and things like that. And for those of you who are shocked by the 80s now in 2008....well, then u seriously need to catch up, fashion moves fast!
and a side note to Kuwaiti girls who think they are fashionable and will freak out about anything that is NOT trickled down, years-after-the-fact, high street, H&M/Topshop-approved, mediocre crap. Then you need to stop reading Teen Vogue and expand your horizons, because fashion is certainly not about closed-mindedness. O salamatkum.
Sorry about that rant but I had to get it out :P
