Event: Youssef Nabil Photos Exhibition

I Had to look twice to believe that the women shown on the photo above is Egyptian actress Laila Elwy. I have never seen her in my life looking as refined as she did in this photo (refined but not mind-blowingly stylish and chic, BIG difference). The photo would have been perfect had there not been the cheap diamante tie-look-alike necklace. The "Madonna-ish" photo is the creative work of world renowned acclaimed Egyptian artist, Youssef Nabil.

If you liked Laila's photo, then you ought to check out the photographs featured in Youssef Nabil's website. I was truly amazed! His work is Suggestively beautiful with an old-fashioned twist. Better yet, go check out his solo exhibition currently running until May 22nd at Sultan Gallery.

Sultan Gallery is located at South Sabhan, Block 8, Street 105, Building 168. For further information, please call (+965) 471-4325.

That particular photo of Laila is a dead ringer for a series of photos shot by Helmut Newton in the late 70's- the theme is boy meets girl, girl meets boy- very Garboesque. Nothing new or inventive; nice photo though

I beg to differ about the photo being subjected as Madonna-ish , while art is supposed to be objective Madonna acquired this look for her Vogue idea adapting from film noir ( back to Garbo followed by Newton)

I see this guy doing creative fashion advertising campaigns, nostalgia fashion shoots - nothing more.
